Samila Beach got its name from a folk tale about the “Golden Mermaid,” which is the beach’s symbol. According to legend, the mermaid often came to the beach to comb her hair with a golden comb. One day, a fisherman spotted the mermaid, and upon being seen, she became frightened and dove into the sea, leaving her golden comb behind. The fisherman then picked up the comb and waited for the mermaid’s return to this beach.
